Tuna in a can

Horace stood at the edge of the black cliff and watched as the ocean receded into oblivion .
Within the hour the story surfaced that the entire Pacific Ocean was gone.
Horace was quite sure a Tsunami was on the way before someone showed him some pictures on their phone.
By the time he made it to Snyder’s Grocery the tuna shelf was empty.
Horace began to have a fear and dread, not of the implications of this event but of the endless barrage of mindless chatter that was sure to assault him for who knows how long.
Maybe it would rain.
