The sap sailors

image

We set sail in a sea of sap
On the 50th ring in the trunk of a giant sequoia
Bouncing through storms and seasons we found ourselves at our entry port
We carried our vessel to the 51st ring
We sang the sap sailor’s song
as we went

“They say there’s mermaids in the hundreth ring
Of every tree on earth
But we must sail consecutively starting from the rings of birth
Sail and hoist, hoist and sail through these sticky seas
Toil and sweat all our days
In hopes a myth to see”

  4. I love your sailor’s ditty especialy but the whole concept of sailing in a tree is just the kind of farfetched stuff you are so great at! =) I need to come by and visit more often as I always get a smile or a “what the…..”?
