In another summer

In another summer

When I was younger I would swim to the bottom of the deep part of the pond
Down there the water is so cold
It makes your bones go crack
And you remember winter and every cold stare of your life
Just for a split second
then you push off to the top
To find yourself much older
Floating about in the hot stale surface with so much fat around your bones
and you remember the skinny boy who touched the mud below

Just a moment ago

  2. I just loved this. πŸ™‚ I liked “remembering winter and every cold stare in your life.” And the 2000 cheeseburgers comment. teehee. Does fat make us more bouyant? I might not make it to the bottom of the pond any more! Fulfilling your dreams of a larger audience. πŸ™‚
